I was reading about cyano on another site and somebody recommended sucking out as much as possible, then turn off the lights for 48 hours straight. I don't know about this because of the photoperiod interuption. You don't seem like you have many options left though.

Bought it 4 days ago. Tank is 29 gallons. Lighting is a JBJ 2x65 plus a 20w NO actinic. ph-8.2, ca-440, trates and trites-0, amonia-next to nothing. Need to test the other stuuf after I pick up some more kits. Temp is 79, I know a little low, but not that low.

Clever eh? Ok, I noticed 2 of these pods that look like slugs. They are about 1 inch long each. Both of them were spitting out this white cloudy stuff at the same time. They only did it for about a minute. What are these guys doing? Are they vomiting, pooping, or are they getting busy the pod way?

Just bought a hammer. I haven't been able to watch it much because of my schedule. A few of the tenacles are extended further out than the others, and a few are drooping down. What's going on?

So is every watt of actinic as useful as each watt of white light? The tank has a real strong blue tinge to it. Is this a bad thing? I plan to replace the actinic in the pc w/ a smart bulb. Is this totally neccesary or should I hold off? Thanx!

OK, First I bought an All Glass 55w pc. I found a JBJ 2x65, 1 bulb is a 10k, the other bulb is actinic. I put it up on the tank, and it isn't as bright as the 55. I also have a 20w NO actinic. Why does it seem like I have less light w/ twice the $$?!
