need info on resetting up salt tank

Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate ideally 0 but generally under .25ppm. As far as trace elements any good reef salt and regular water changes will keep this in check. Also ro water is reccomended

Having trouble with a new tank

Ammonia spike is the most common and most lethal. I would wait a few weeks then test water. If all is ok slowly add fish. 1-2 a month. A qt is reccomended aswell

Having trouble with a new tank

A 55 is too small for any tang. That said you added fish way to close together. My guess is you had a spike because of the bio load increase too fast

just about to set up cure or don't cure

No rinse, if you rinse those in fresh water you will have dead rock. Just put it in your premixed sw tank. If your not keeping it in sw now your "live" rock is slowly dieing aswell

    redoing 10g to salt

Welcome to sw. Do NOT use the crushed coral it sucks. Use the sand. Now the smaller you go the harder sw is, far less room for error. Your rock is fine, the easiest way to make it live again is too seed it with live rock. In your case some live rock rubble would probably work. If you look at...

    150 gallon not drilled question

Agreed with above. A drilled tank with plumbing is about double the cost of a standard. It saves alot of trouble tho
