    Screw Red Legged hermits!!!!!

Yes! I caught one on it so I pulled it out to inspect and decided to dip it in revive at which time they both scurried out. I already figured I have an infestation. Some people say they are good CUC,but now I am disagreeing. Maybe they dont eat them so much as they irritate them to the point...

    Little polyp eating B@$!!!!!

Well there you have it folks! Just because many have not caught them in action, does not mean they do not eat corals. Mine were clearly not of this length, however I do believe they have been if nothing else, irritating my corals and causing them to retract and die off.

    Little polyp eating B@$!!!!!

Well there were eating because I noticed my 2 polyp colonies had some bare spots,so over the last week these spots became bigger and bigger,so I decided to check with lights off and then under my blues this morning and low and behold!!!! Bristles on my starrys!

    Little polyp eating B@$!!!!!

Yes,but are these the fire type or regular bristle worms? Also,I found one in my sump when I first set up my tank and I was told they were good for cuc,so I left him in sump. I'm starting to believe that no bristle worms are ok for any reef tanks.

    Baby Hammer Corals

So it looks like one of my Hammer corals may have split or is splitting. Anyway,at the base I can see 3 or 4 baby hammer corals with very small tenticles. Do these usually grow into adult corals? Sorry,I'm a noob to hammer corals. Yes, my back glass needs cleaning, lol.

xenia corals dying or just shocked ?

I would say shocked. However,I would keep tabs on parameters daily as you may have killed off some bacteria during the move causing a small cycle. Check water daily!

    Huge Pod Farm!

I was in the middle of getting ready for work and didn't take pictures. Not sure they would come out well under blue lights either. I'll give it a shot.

    Huge Pod Farm!

So over the lest several weeks I'v had tiny pods all over my glass. This morning I wake up and turn my blues on and there are hundreds and hundreds of 3/8" pods walking all over my DT. Couldn't be happier! Seems my tank is flourishing. My clowns stay hungry,I'm guessing they are not eating them...

    Are these any good?

Function maybe, but this one in question is not of the circular diameter as most are, this one is rectangular and apparently has an adapter to surface skim. I guess it's game changing possibly, and works the same.

    Feeling Froggy!!!!!!

Ladies and gentlemen! !!! Apparently I was sold a hammer coral even though I asked for a frogspawn and was told that's what it was. I guess I should have done better research. LFS don't know everything. Lesson learned.

    Are these any good?

Is $115 a good price for that model? It's the lowest I've seen on it. It just looks so different from most protein skimmers, which is why I've been leary to buy it.

    Post your Frogspawn!

Thanx for the info. I was gonna say I like your name "quills". I do cnc maching, work with quills daily, lol. I just did a water change and finally moved the hammer up closer to the lights in the process. She looks great in that spot. I'll post new pic when she's fully open.

    Post your Frogspawn!

So,should I be disappointed that my LFS told me it was a frogspawn? I was hoping to get a frogspawn as I read they are fairly easy to care for, frag easily and grow at a decent speed. Then the frags I could use to trade or sell to upgrade equipment later on.

    Are these any good?

Ive been debating on the tunze 9001. My DIY skimmer pulls some chunks and its a light brown skimmate. I can only imagine how well an actualy professional skimmer would do. No Jay,I have not. My budget is not really $200-300 for a skimmer at the moment.
