Yes,I will take them all out when I can find them all and possibly exchange them for something less damaging to my corals.

I think since I have some time off from work for the holidays,that I am going to do a DIY upflow in sump algae scrubber. They go for hundreds of dollars on stores,yet I can build one for maybe $30 or less.

Does one need a refugium with macro algae or is an algae scrubber good enough in the sump? Which one is better?

So I have noticed that my Red Legged Hermit Crabs do in fact attack some of my corals. Caught 2 nibbling on my new pink star polyp as it was conpletely closed,they were picking at the purple coraline looking mass as there were a couple bare spots where they were at. I immediately took them out...

They have finally opened up about 60% or so.

Within 10 minutes of turning tank lights in,there are about 5 polyps opened. I'm sure it will be fully opened by the time I get home from work tonight. Thanx guys. Pinkys are sensitive compared to my GSP.

How would I know if its melting? Does it literally look like melting lava so to speak?

All my zoahs have been eating frozen brine. Pretty cool to watch.

Yeaterday I moved it to a darker side of tank,adjusted water flow and this morning I can see 2 polyps opening. We'll see what happens.

So I recently bought a few frags,mostly zoahs and polyps. One of the Zoah colonies seems to be folding its skirts completely backwards. I dipped all corals before they went into the tank. Im just curious if anyone has experienced this. All other frags are out and about and looking happy.

I did stop,yesterday. But still nothing. Ammonio 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate .2 Ph 8.2 Calcium 460 Don't have testers for anything else as of yet.

So yesterday I bought a colony of pink star polyps,super pretty. Doesn't matter where they are in the tank,they refuse to open. I also bought other zoas and GSP and they are all opened. It literally just looks like a rock with coraline algea on it. Lights are good,water is good,flow is good. So...

Those are the frags,I placed them all there over the last couple days.

Here's 3 of the 4 zoas and attached to the one on the right is a cabbage leather.

Wow,those are nice man! I'm not quite sure. My hermits and cleaner shrimp get on mine sometimes but haven't seen them actually eat the zoas. Just looks like a normal routine cleaning to me. Maybe Jay has better answers.

Moved these zoas up higher and center of tank and now they are all finally opening up.

I did it! My first ever fragging. Its just over the size of a quarter.
