    can seahorses eat frozen food

That's too warm. They do best in a species only tank since they eat very slowly, and won't be able to compete for food.

    magnificent foxface

Yes, they can inflict fatal stings, after all, that's why they have the spines to begin with. Do they actually kill other fish? - not unless they are being seriously harassed, but most other fish know not to bother rabbit fishes, and rabbit fishes don't go out of their way to annoy tankmates...

    snowflake eel

A mandarin is also a bottom dweller, so it will encounter the eel frequently. All it takes is the eel having one bad day and...:(

How much gph do I need

Either would be fine. My preference would be 1400, and put a ball valve on the pump outflow so you can throttle it back if necessary. If you have the 1050 and need more flow you can't make an adjustment short of a new pump.

    Cephalopods in a refugium

As an individual I do have lots of experience, but the combined experience and wisdom on this site is awesome so I thought I would check and see if anyone had any experience with cuttles. I guess in a year I'll be the experienced one :)

    magnificent foxface

As herbivores, they aren't too messy eaters (certainly not in the same league as a trigger in terms of mess), and as adults are about 7-9 inches long, so they aren't the biggest, so no, not a heavy bioload IMHO.

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

I'm guessing that one of the two new fish (majestic and queen angels) got spooked by the disturbance, and that upset the other fish, so they all went into hiding. I suspect that as the newcomers become more adapted to your routine things will even out.

    magnificent foxface

Peaceful, herbivorous, venomous. Needs a fairly decent sized tank (125 minimum, IMHO). Makes a good companion in an aggressive tank because most of the aggressive fish will leave this venomous fish alone. From what I have seen of these at lfs, they seem to vary in the quality of their...

    Cephalopods in a refugium

Flower - thanks for the vote of confidence. I think we will have the cuttles in place by mid winter. I'll post some pictures when they are in.

    Houdini clownfish?

I can guarantee that you will find the missing fish on the day you break down your tank. As you remove the sand you will find the bones of all of the missing inhabitants.

    White film

Those white deposits are precipitated calcium salts. They should dissolve in acid (vinegar is a weak acid), or you can try "Magi-Klean" which is pretty good, but you will have to be sure to rinse the tanks extensively after you use it.

    55 gallon aquarium

Mandarin dragonets are great fish - they look great and are interesting to watch. However, they are not a fish for the faint-of-heart. They require copepods ("pods") as their food source. You will need either a separate tank to raise pods in, or a very mature (at least 1 year old) fairly good...

    Cephalopods in a refugium

I currently have a 220 gallon FOWLR tank that is 2 years old. I am fed up with the small, cramped sump under the tank, and am embarking on converting a spare 110 gallon tank into a sump that will be located in the basement. I am looking at the tank, and I realize that the central portion of...

I want to get a UV light for my 20&72 gallon tank

I'm not even sure that hobbyist-grade UV lights will kill the critters that come out at night - the light intensity is just too low and the flow rates generally too high to produce much of an exposure. Commercial-grade lights will be effective in protecting cross-contamination of multiple tanks...

    Fish keep dying. Help Please

I think your problem might be the yellow tail damsel. They are very aggressive and territorial, and yours probably harassed the other fish until the stress killed them.

What do I need before i buy anthing(other then stand and light)

You need a smaller tank to be a quarantine. It can be simple, but it is as important as any other piece of equipment because sooner or later you are going to acquire a fish with some kind of parasite or infection that will kill all of your fish. Then you will be on this site asking what...

    Hi, sort of new!

You will need a source of RODI to use to replace evaporation. Tap water, even if the city starts with RO, won't do since there will be chemicals in the water that won't evaporate, so as you keep replacing evaporative loss with tap water you are increasing the concentration of things like dry...

    Swimming Pool to an Aquarium

Water quality should not be an issue. As the OP noted, his population density will be quite low. I would recommend that the spa that waterfalls into the pool incorporate a large algae scrubber - then he won't have to worry about algal growth, and the macroalgae will go a long way towards...
