that looks like brooklynella its a very serious parasite that will continue to kill. go to the diseas forum for help. look at the post diseased fish(pictures). you will find out what you need to do ther.

lol jay i just read an article on doing tank matenince with one in your tank and it suggested some crazy stuf like put a divider in your tank so you can scrub the glass on one side lift it up let it swim to the other and clean other side lol its great

thats what happend to the gut at my lfs the eel thought his hand was food and it wouldent let go made a real mess of his hand. thats what i was told. if you already got him on the tongs then just keep him on them.
