T-5 vs. Metal Halid vs. Lunar Lights for corals

Metal Halide is the highest intensity lights with a wide spectrum range I believe the home hobbyist can have Lunar lights or moon lights recreate nocturnal lighting in the ocean T5s are florescent bulbs that give high intensity and run cool in a small diameter bulb So to answer you question you...

    Mantis Pipes?

I personally love caves (PVC) the more the nicer appearance of the tank IMO My point is simply if you prefer one burrow that allows you to observer you mantis easily place it in front of that one when you introduce it. But there is not guarantee that after scouting out the tank that it will not...

    Stopping a slow leak?

I don't not mean this as a joke. have a wet dry vacuum handy you can bet on the fact that if and when you get a total seam failure it will be in the middle of the night

    Stopping a slow leak?

IMO the best way to stop a leak in your LITTLE reef tank( depending on what you consider little) is buy a new tank

    Protein Skimmer Problem

but if you look closely at the skimmer body itself you will see the bubble production inside the body is nill I completely missed this, with this evidence you are correct in stating it is a mechanical problem

    Protein Skimmer Problem

Again let me just say NO I was not kidding when I asked why someone would automatically assume that if here was a drop off of skimmate that there was a mechanical problem with their skimmer. You would I would think have to agree that other factors could be involved

Question for those of you who performed hypo for ich recently......

OK I think we need to get back to basics here for a moment and revisit how hypo brakes the life cycle of ick, so dear Renee and other please indulge me. The ick parasite in its divisional stage need to convert saline water into fresh water (all marine animals need fresh water) they do this via...

Question for those of you who performed hypo for ich recently......

If its not human error in the procedure of Hypo I on the other hand lean toward another type of parasite. its not like ick can build up an immunity to hypo as you know it would have to bend the laws of physics and transfer fluids though its membrane without osmotic pressure differential

what makes you think the decrees in skimate is a problem

Question for those of you who performed hypo for ich recently......

My two cents Fact. We know how the ick parasite divides Fact. We know that hypo reduces the osmotic pressure differential to a level where there can be no division. If we can say with 100% certainty that we have preformed hypo correctly, then we have to deduce that the parasite we are dealing...

The comment about HQI emitting less heat is true but misleading. The ambient heat from a bulb only adds a tiny amount of heat to an aquarium. It's the light energy itself that add the heat. HQI typically produce more light so as a result they are going to add more heat to the water. The bulbs...
