Some of my beautiful fish ! Warning Photo Heavy.

now now, no need for bats, think of the livestock....lol Best punishment a bad LFS can have is you don't return and buy !!!!! and you spread the word, over here the reefing community is very tight and we ALL know each other, so its bad business spreads quickly. Its the best approach. Just...

thank you @Bryce E. It is a retracted Alverpora. If its been 7 days it is unhappy for some reason. Couple of things please Your nitrate & phos number please ? Your lighting ? and most importantly your ALK, this family of corals are very touchy with alk problems. We will go from there. thanks.

    ID This Coral?

ok, it looks like the close relative of the gonipora, its the alverpora i think. When it opens its easy to tell, gonipora has 24 flower petals each polyp and the Alverpora has 12 petals per polyp. Its hard to see in the pic because its closed but I think I can only count 12 petals per polyp...

Thats really interesting. I love tunzes to this day but agreed they are so darned expensive and still seem ridiculous, but great quality i suppose. Over here we tend to DSB in the sump rather than the tank now days. I am glad we aquaculture stuff now and are saving some of the ocean. I am...

Some of my beautiful fish ! Warning Photo Heavy.

Oh my god. that is an absolute disaster. Did they offer any discount or help once it had happened, or like most LFS rubbed their hands together and thought hmmm. more $$$$.. I honestly think that some LFS are just after the money and don't really care about customer or their stock. Its such a...

What is the job you hate to most ?

love it... we do siphon changes, open tap on return pipe and it siphons out to an exact level each time, we run off and have a coffee while do it,and old water straight down drain. then when stops siphon we just click our hose connector from IBC storage and pump straight back into tank, We...

ha, that explains your comment about it being not so demanding, thought that had to be from an experienced reefer. funny thing is with our new build we did put some things into place that do make our life a little easier, so i suppose by the time I get to 9 yrs, it will be a breeze. Bet you've...

What is the job you hate to most ?

Hi Just wondering what job you have on your tank that you hate the most, the one you always put off cause it either too hard, too dirty or just time consuming. I was cleaning my glass again today and thought wow I would be rich if I could invent something that did this for me, without...

wow, thank you for that @snakeblitz33 . the 300g was actually only 15 months old and new tank is just coming up 3 months old now. So although i love your comment I actually do consider myself a "novice"when it comes to this hobby,18months is nothing, lol. i still learn something new every...

forgot to say, if you start blowing off rocks and haven't done it before, you will be amazed at the amount of crap flying around, so i suggest you do it just before a water change to help remove some of it, Once you do it regularly and there isn't so much crap floating around then a water change...

    Maintenance routines

lol, all good @flower . not a problem, i do agree that don't dose unless you test is a good idea, i didn't use an auto doser for 13 months because I thought I would lose touch my my tank, so I used to test every 3 days and dose accordingly, but what would happen is my Alk for instance would drop...

I soak all my return pumps, skimmer and power heads in a vinegar for a couple of hours. It easily removes sludge & more importantly coraline algea from powerhead, which can affect the over all performance of them. If really dirty, i use 100% vinegar if not so bad the 50/50 ratio. sludge and...

Some of my beautiful fish ! Warning Photo Heavy.

hi ya, thank you for that. There is no ICH on those tangs, unfortunately we did have a large ich out break about a week after the upgrade to the new tank, we sold those two blues (they never went to the new tank) and purchase another new one, well he was the culprit, and pleased to say like...
