Ok so I had some luck with finding a tank; found a 15 long, (compared to this being a 15 tall), so I decided to do a little upgrade. Plus my Bosemani has grown and could use a little more length in the tank. This tank is a 12.5 x 12.5 x 24" long 15, compared to the previous tank which was a 10"...

I'm sure it wasn't the issue, but I typically rinse with RO/DI Just to avoid any nasty tap chemicals.

this definitley could happen. The pump is basically connected with a plastic pipe clamp..... most pumps are connected this way or with zip ties though
