    Hermit crab

Is your tank still cycling? Maybe the water parameters are stressing it out. If it was in water when you bought it, surely it's a water hermit. One of my hermits changed shells 3 times before he decided on one he liked. I'd definitely put more shells of different sizes in with him. I just...

    Hermit crab

Usually if you have a " [hr] " hermit, it's a sign of stress. They are vulnerable without their shell. When they change shells, they do it quickly. You need to have a variety of shells for him to choose from. I have 4 good sized hermits, and 3 of them have changed shells. I did alot of...

    Lion has trouble eating

My lion is 5-6 inches. I give him pieces of food about the size of a quarter or smaller and he gulps them right down. If I give him bigger pieces, it takes him a while to get it down. He will keep moving it around in his mouth trying to get it turned right. I would try giving him smaller...

    girl problems

OK, coming from a woman who has been hit on by more than one guy she's not into.... you better be sure she's interested! If she was just someone in a class, it wouldn't be a big deal, but you have to work together. Nothing will irritate a woman more than a guy asking her out in an...

    how to feed lion fish

Most lfs sell silversides frozen. Just ask, they should have several different frozen fish foods. You can feed him ghost shrimp until he will eat the frozen food. I also bought raw frozen seafood mix at walmart in the meat department. Try putting in front of the powerhead. I tricked mine...

    Feeding Lions

They're freshwater so we just kept ours in a 10g. I fed them fish flakes. They come right up to eat. They're easy to keep. I had some real plants and snails in the tank. We bought 3 dozen at a time. They are only $2.50 a dozen here. I just ran a air bubbler and no filter. My tank was...

    Just added my first fish!

congrats on your first fish!! I have a 3 stripe damsel. He's in with a lion, rabbitfish, and trigger (in a 55g). He's the most aggressive fish out of all of them! lol I really enjoy him. He attacks the shovel whenever I'm trying to move something around. He's just fearless. He makes a...

anyone ever have an octopus??? i think im going to buy one...

We looked into getting one before we set up our FOWLR. You need a locking lid on your aquarium. If their beak can fit through an opening the octo is going through it. I read stories of them getting out of their tank, crawling into another, eating all of the fish, and going back to their own...

    helpp, ID pleaseeee

Well I'm no expert but have gotten a few good pics. I turn out all of the lights in the room and leave the tank light on. I also use a tripod at least a foot away from the aquarium. The tripod really helps with the blurriness. Also, it helps to use the macro setting if your camera has one.

    Feeding Lions

They won't last that long in saltwater and freshwater fish aren't the best diet for a lion. I think they're ok for a treat every now and then, but not as their staple diet. I would try some ghost shrimp if he refuses to eat dead food, and keep trying with the frozen stuff. I would just cut it...

    Feeding Lions

I started out feeding live ghost shrimp because my lion wouldn't eat anything dead. After a couple of weeks I tricked him into eating squid tentacles by putting them in front of the powerhead. He would chase them across the tank and gobble them up. We then moved to stick feeding. Now I can...

    helpp, ID pleaseeee

My guess is a peanut worm. Wait until your tank has been dark for awhile and then take a peak at it with a flashlight. I found one in my tank. It's in a hole in a rock. It only streches out of the hole to feed when the lights are out. It never actually leaves the rock. They have white...

    Anybody have a Halloween Hermit?

I had one. My lfs sold it to me as a halloween hermit crab, but I think it's actually an electric orange. Look up pics of the two on the net. Mine went back to the lfs after about a week. He ate over half of my corraline alge off of the rocks. Since I have a FOWLR, the corraline is where I...
