    WTB in Midstate Illinois

Hey guys, I live in Metamora! :cheer: I had no idea that there were that many people on here from this area. My cousin works at super pets, so I've shopped there a lot. I've had them order me fish and then call when they are in. Fishin Times seemed to have a lot of variety, but most of...

    barracudas??

I've dove lots in Mexico. There are always tons of them. Very neat fish. They would get pretty close, close enough to see their big teeth! I always kept an eye on them, but I didn't feel threatened. They would just watch you. I can't believe a lfs would be selling these! Poor fishies!

    lion fish feeding

the way that I switched my volitan's to frozen was to feed him a live ghost shrimp, then put a piece of frozen food (usually squid tentacles, because they sort of look like shrimp) in front of the powerhead. The water movement makes the frozen food "swim" and the lion chases it down and gulps...

    Waterfall Pump???

I'm Using A Pump Made By Little Giant In My Sump. It Wasn't Rated For Saltwater, But Since We Already Had It We Decided To Use It Until It Caused A Problem. It's Been Running Continuously For 6-7 Months Now Without A Problem. I Say If It's Free It's Worth A Shot. You Won't Be Out Anything If...

I'll post one tonight when I get home from work. Do you only have fish in the tank? If so, I bet they would be ok with minimal lighting for a day or two. The fixture I have I just purchased from another poster on this site. I believe he said the bulb was 18 months old. I purchased it with...

    Picasso tankmate

I have a picasso in with 2 damsels, lion, and foxface. He's a very cool fish. He grunts when he gets excited. As long as I keep him well fed I don't have any problems. I think it depends on the individual fish. My lfs also has one that was returned due to aggression. I got the damsels...

    Lighting Question

OK, so pc's don't penetrate or put out as many lumens as mh, correct? So what lighting would fulfill high light requirements on a 10g? I'm just trying to get this whole lighting thing straight. :notsure:

    Lighting Question

OK, I will have 96w on a 10g. That's 9.6w/g, and that's considered low light? What the heck is considered high? Is it because of the type of lighting? :help:

It's not their bite that is poisonous, it's the spines on its dorsal fin.

    Crab shells?

Just go to the craft store and purchase a bag of empty shells. There usually only a couple of bucks. You need to boil them to disinfect before putting them in the tank. The ones marked especially for hermits are usually alot more expensive. I read that hermits like more round openings as...

    FoxFace Purchase?

I really enjoy my foxface also. I wouldn't worry about the venomous factor either. As Carshark said, just be aware of the fish when working in the tank. Mine eats pellets, flakes, and seaweed sheets as well as nibbles on the rockwork. I think they add nice color to the tank. I'm glad...
