    Blue Torch Coral

I've been feeding it brine shrimp. It just had two heads that retreated, the other one is still thriving. I will have to test for my calcium again for an accurate reading. It's not sick looking at all, in fact the remaining head looks great

    Blue Torch Coral

Hi! So, I have a blue torch, and it was thriving for the first few weeks or so. There were three different heads on it. About a week ago or so, one of the heads' tentacles went completely back inside of it, and at the same time, the second one's tentacles were just barely out still. About a...

    My new additions!!

I'm going to try clowns again. I've never had luck with them, which is so weird considering they're supposed to be very hardy. Now that my tank is well established though, I'm hoping it would work out better.

    Noisy Overflow (Sucking/Slurping noise)

I had this problem too, and if you mess around with the positioning of the tube that goes from the overflow to your filter, you can find a place where it doesn't slurp.

    fish keep dying

Hey! I was just telling another guy the other day that I had this same problem. He was in the same situation that you are talking about. I couldn't keep any fish either, and all of my inverts were totally fine too. Anyway, after losing 4 fish, I decided that maybe if I let my tank sit for a...

Ongoing saga: all fish die in days

My levels were the same way, all good. Just let it sit and wait and see what happens. Make sure the fish you first put in aren't expensive ones. Like I said, my tank was the same way, and is now thriving with coralline and happy fish and corals. Good luck!

Ongoing saga: all fish die in days

Hello! I had this EXACT same thing happen to me! I could keep inverts with absolutely no problem, but any fish I put in the tank died. They even died the exact same way that your did. First, they would show signs of labored breathing, then eventually would start doing the "dying fish dive"...

That's coincidental, I just bought this stuff yesterday. The guy that was working at the store (not one of the owners) seemed very knowledgeable and highly recommended it.

    Moonlights for Odysseas

I have Odyssea PC's, 65W, 12000K that have a third switch on them for moonlights. Is there anything I need to know when looking for some? Are there many different kinds where I'll need to find specs on mine just like when you order replacement bulbs and need to know watts, etc? I would like...

    Stringy live rock

My live rock is in great shape, but often grows long stringy hairs off of it. They are always the color of the coralline that's grown on the rock. They look awful and I end up blowing them off once they get to be 4 or 5 inches long. Is this something that happens to everyone else too?

Best way to store empty tank

Hello! I had my tank down for about 7 months. It was sitting empty, with about 1/2 inch of dried up sand at the bottom. I had it covered with only a blanket. Then, I had kept all of my live rock in 5 gallon buckets full of saltwater for the entire 7 months. It doesn't stink until you open...

    brownish colored yellow polyps

I bought some yellow polyps at the fish store, and when I got home and was looking at some pictures of other people's, I noticed that mine were not as vibrant of yellow as the others looked. I was just wondering what the best way to nurse it back to health would be?

My first pictures of my 55

not good enough lighting for carpet anemones and clams, but enough to support most other corals. They are 12,000K 4 x 65 watts odyssea lights. Not sure much else about them. They were recommended to me by a friend that has some corals.
