alright, thats good about you not having SPS, you can run a pohos remover without worries, in SPS tanks, the suden reduction of P04 can bleanch/brown corals.

if you gonna run a phospahte removing material you need the chamber, you need to run low flow through the chamber and be able to mesure how much goes in, and at what speed. how old is the tank? what kind of corals IE Soft, LPS, SPS mixed?

i would cut the hours back to 9-10 hours or less, since you ahev no corals you dont have the need to run the lgith long (14hrs is to long for anything IMO) save the energy and the light life.

Many corals close before lights turn off, my LPS and zoos all close an hour before lights off.
