    Excuse me . . . . Ophiura

Well . . . my problem is not getting the food to him. He grabs it perfectly well on his own and even goes for my finger sometimes. It sure does feel strange when they grab hold! But my problem is getting him to either eat fast enough that he is protected from the other animals, or is sheltered...

OT - Until now, only in science fiction movies...

You know its kinda funny that this topic should come up . . . . I can guarentee that each and every single parent on this board and in the world for that matter would feel 110% in favor of such technology should their child turn up missing. There is so much to be gained from such technology...

    Excuse me . . . . Ophiura

I have a question for you . . . . I have a serpent star that has been in my 20H reef tank for about 10 months or so. It lives under a rock and has never come out from his burrow during daylight hours, occasionally at night I will see him scavenging, but not always. Anyway . . . to the point...

Need some Live Sand to seed my 'fuge... can anyone help? - VA

Well . . . . I am not sure if you still need it, or are willing to wait, but I am moving at the end of august and will be tearing down my tank:( I have some great LS though, set up over a year. If you can tell me how to ship it, and are willing to pay for it then I'll send you some. But like...

    coolest addition yet!

You know . . . I didnt catch that. But I do agree though. two fish in a 6 gallon is too much IMO. I think that the clown would be fine on its own, but the cardinal from that I have read will not do well if in a tank by itself. I think that your best bet is to get rid of both fish, but if you...

    coolest addition yet!

It will acutally be less on the bio load as the shrimp will consume and convert the majority of the previoulsy uneaten food into energy. There will be less waste as they are rather active animals. It should actually (if there was a lot of uneate food on the bottom before) lighten the bio load...

    DSB revolt

I am sure that I came of very brash, but I dont intend to. I have much much more to say on this topic, but I fear that it will not be constructive so I decided to stop. Long and short . . . DSB's are effective short term. Long term . . . . it is impossible to tell. For anyone to come along...

    DSB revolt

You know . . . . I have been following this thread from the start and have just been observing things as they develop. However, I am about to break my silence on this one as I have put some serious thought into this topic. 1. DSB's are NOT by any means the end all filtration methods, nor do I...

I want to start this hobby

The best single piece of equipment that you can have is literally right in front of you. It sounds lame, but seriously, this board contains EVERY single bit of information that you could ever need, and if you cant find it, just ask! What i would suggest is that you search around here, ask...

    water changes

Instead of the Freshwater method of doing 20% monthly at one time, try doing 5% weekly. This acheives the same thing, creates more consistency, and is less of a shock to the system. I have noticed an improvement in both water chemistry, and coral growth once changing to 5% weekly water...

    Coral ID

looks an awful lot like Capnella to me. Very similar to colt, but more branching as this appears. Colts are generally thick, where as capnella are thinner. My opinion . . . . capnella.
