I mis-typed, but I guess you knew what I meant.

    ~~catch your own

All you need is a resident saltwater fishing license. As I said before, don't break the law. You can catch your OWN fish, but cannot sell them. There are strict laws on sizes of ornamentals, and quantity caught. The FWC is especially strict on angels, almost as strict as they are on lobsters...

    2700 gallon aquarium pics

Hello fellow AZA member. IMO, the sand filter is going to clog up almost daily. I should point out that other than that, you have a rockin setup.

    2700 gallon aquarium pics

I hate to be a critic, but are you going to have more filtration? The sand filter and wet/dry seem very undersized. I am willing to build a skimmer for your tank if you want. Your profile states "zookeeper'. Are you AZA?

    Cuban cigars

Tangman, I did research a few months ago and got customs info contradicting yours. I was researching importation of absinthe, and came across the Cuban cigars. What I interpreted was that Cuban cigars can be brought into the country, as long as they... 1) are for personal consumption (no exact...

    Lfs Job Help!!

I used to manage a large LFS, and summer is the slow season for aquarium stores. You will need some really good experience, as you will be competing against other college students, as well as HS students. Good Luck

    ~~catch your own

When I lived in So Fla, I used to catch my own fish. Make sure you have a saltwater license, and follow the sizing rules. DO NOT F*** with the FWC, they will confiscate your dive gear, boat, etc. if you break the law. I agree with Ophiura, in reference to making sure you will be able to keep the...

What kind of fish is there?

Lionfish are indopacific (not from the Caribbean) Queen Angel could work. I would check into a Queen Trigger with tail streamers. They are pretty fish, and have the "plumage". They also are native to the Caribbean

    wrong water changes??

Depending on your local water, you might be able to use tap water. I used to live in So. Florida and used a 5 stage RO/DI. I now live in Baltimore and use tap water on my reef. Our city water averages 50 to 75 ppm of TDS. I sold my RO/DI on ---- because no one in Baltimore needed one.

    Asassi Trigger

Assasi Triggers are my favorite. They come from The Red Sea, and are commonly called True Picasso Triggers. They are relatively peaceful (as far as triggers go). They don't go thru any major coloration differences from juvenile to adult.

    Regal Tang

My concern is the "head down, butt up". This is usually defensive positioning caused by aggression from other fish. Do you have any other tangs, especially other Acanthurus/Paracanthrus sp.?

    black volitan lion

Black and Red volitans are the same thing, just different color morphs. Pterois volitans can actually change color, usually depending on their diet. Black volitans usually cost more because they are not as common as the lighter/"orangey" patterns.
