I made a brute container full of ro/di water and it reeked of chlorine!! I changed the carbon filter again, and it is better. I have already called the company and complained. Just a word of caution: algafix kills banded trochus snails. It also wiped out most of my chaeto. Which I am having a hard time to get it growing again. You might want to take some of the macro out to put back later.

Ok, lights just came on, and I think I have good news to report. the sand bed has patches of algae on it, but it looks like cyano now. Could it be that my diatom bloom is finally fading??? The rocks do not look as bad as they had the other day when I posted, they are better....... And I see no...

I did buy a gallon of distilled water, tested it just now with the tds meter, and it reads 0. So what could be my problem with the ro/di?

Well, I have filled a brute can full, and it still reads 001ppm. On the owners manual, it states you may have to recalibrate the tds meter from time to time. I have never had to do this, but every filter and the membrane is new.. So, I dunno. Gonna use the water for the water change today....

What do you all use to recalibrate your tds meters? Distilled water? I replaced all filters and my membrane, ran out 10g, and my tds meter still reads 0.01ppm. That has to be wrong. All filters and membrane are seated correctly......

Copper is better imo. I used the mardel brand on my yellow tang and flame angel. Did daily water changes, it worked well.... I have never used hypo though......
