I believe that carpets and sebaes are natural hosts for perculas. From what I've heard ....sebaes are hard to keep.

    GONIOPORA/FLOWER

From what I have read and heard, they are the hardest to keep and are short lived in captivity. They have some sort of special diet , I think? But, they are beautiful!!!!!!!

    over heating

I 'm with goofie my tank stays around 85 F during the day and things look great. It has been that way for 2 years now!!! No problems!!!!!! In my opinion if it gets over say...88 F then you mhave a problem. By the way my AC is on @75 F and my tank still goes to 85 F with the lights on..

    SeaClone Bubbles!!! SOS

To fine tune the air flow on my seaclone, I use an adjustable air valve instead of the one that came with the skimmer. I also shortened the inner tube to about 3" and my seaclone works better know than ever.

    Which coral

165 watts over a 46g isn't bad. Yes it could be better. I have 192 watts over a 55g (96w actinic 96w 6700). I have a pink pagoda that is about 8" from the top and is THRIVING nicely! You don't neccessarily need to have a "sun" hanging over your tank for it to be nice.

My lfs sold me some live rock that someone pulled out of their reef and stuck in the garage.I bought 13lbs for $15 . After 1 week some of the rock is already starting to form coralline. What a great buy!!! The same day I also purchased a 6"-8" pagoda for $30. It is a beautiful pink color and is...

    Reef temps

I too have corals splitting. Everything in my tank is doing well. My temp at the hottest gets to about 86 F. But that is a slow process after the lights have been on almost all day. As long as the temps don't vary drastically you should be fine. I read somewhere that the marine life will adapt...

    hundreds of feather dusters

It's not bubble algae. The blobs are white to clear in color. I have a few in my tank. I also have sponges that appear to. That's the greatest thing about reef tanks.

    hundreds of feather dusters

I have a lot of white and red ones all over my rock. I had bad algae about a year ago, and when that cleared up my live rock exploded with life.

    Never makes a water change!!

I agree with burn. I have a 55g and change 6 gallons every 2 weeks. And add additives on a regular schedule... Like it has been said before. Some things work for some and not others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    blue linkia growth

I ahd a place here in central Indiana that propagates corals that they have a hard time keeping them alive more than a week. Living and thriving would be great let alone growth

    swf.com fish and others good?

I agree with NM reef. I like to hand pick my corals at the lfs. There are several lfs here in central Indiana. Plus when ordering online you still have to pay S&H which for live stock isn't cheap. Also most sites will give you an "arrive alive" guarantee. There are great deals out there so do...
