i was always told the 6,500 works the best. the 10,000 also works but, if your buying this for your fuge just get the 6,500. it works good for me. i have it over my 10g nano for now(until i can get it back in my fuge). and it seems to do very well

its not safe for all corals. anemonie would be one that i dont think you would be able to keep. other then that i think you should be fine.

you could probly leave most of the base rock and just add the LR on top of your current rock. but i would try and get alot of that base out of there and clean it all off then add it back in later. that way it all looks very nice and newish
