alix, do you use nail polish remover? acetone burns off stuff on your skin, maybe allowing the coral toxins to get in. i know that if i have a cut on my hand the coral can sting me.

it doesnt qualify as a people eater, they have electric green mouths. that one there is a palythoa grandis variation, due to the size of the center.

lighting, specs pretty much any variable in the environment. sometimes the original zoas will morph themselves. you usually see morphs when you go from halide to power compact or vice versa.

so yeah, my beautiful and expensive palythoa colony isnt doing to good. i did a FW dip and guess what i saw? about 1-2 DOZEN small clear bubbleish things covering each of my palythoas. i figure these are nudibranch. so last nite a did a 5 min FW dip and 10 mins of a lugol dip. same thing...

you want it on 1500, that is the ideal number. any higher i wouldnt recomend, but i have had huge results at 1500. 1400-1500 is your target.

brain corals have no preference, open ones need sand, but favias and what not will do fine in either. i guess whatever looks best! :p. if i can keep a lobo on my sandbed in my stock lite BC14, you would do fine.

shedding is usually a white or cream color no? its algae i think. just ummm peel it off. maybe a powerhead would blow it off. qwhen the polyps are fully opened algae wont grow on it.

heres what i do fir mshrooms and xenia: get a small daisy cup (the kind of container that your duck sauce comes in from the chinese restaurant) put some pebbles on the bottom drop in your coral put in the lid after poking a few holes with a pencil or pen (or use some kind of mesh) wait 1-2 weeks...

true, but i think the business done on the forum is a lot less than on the site.... unless their sales dropped, and the forum selling became popular. its not like there arent other trading forums though, so, i dont think closing it would have done much.
