Your GM Warranty Is Backed By The Government?

Enjoy your GMs. I'll just keep driving my 2002 Lexus that hasn't given me a single problem during the 90k miles I've driven it. Looks pretty nice too. Wish I could say the same about my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Bought a used one with 50k miles for $12k and spent over $10k in repairs...

    Protein Skimmer ASM Brand

I wouldn't say ASMs are the best skimmers, but they certainly give you a lot of bang for your buck. I run an ASM G3 on my 75g mixed reef and it pulls out a full collection cup of skimmate per week.

    Hubby?

Do any of the other men on this forum, married or not, find it irritating when women refer to their spouses as "hubby"? For some reason, and I don't know why, it makes me cringe everytime I see/hear it. I don't know, maybe I'm just pointlessly cranky because of the insomnia I dealing with as a...

Your GM Warranty Is Backed By The Government?

I feel sorry for the US autoworkers. Our labor force is second to none; they're not the problem. The problem with these cars is the cheap and poorly-designed parts they're made of. How the hell does a transmission completely fail after only 70,000 miles? Why do these cars make you feel like...

    Possible Treatment For Cyano

I was on my local reefers forum and someone offered this suggestion for treating cyano: I bought 3 camel shrimp. Within 24 hours almost all of the cyano was gone and I sat there watching the shrimp feed upon it. They would eat it up and leave clean sand behind. Not exactly a scientific study...

You might be suprised at the out come! Lights,

I think the number of those you'll need to keep a successful mixed reef would be equivalent to the quantity it would take to light-up a Vegas billboard. When I started my reef, I added two track-lights with 8 of these bulbs to the back of my canopy to supplement my four T5 bulbs. The SPS frags...

Which Corals Are Safe To Keep With Angelfish?

I flip-flop almost daily on whether I want my future tank upgrade to be a reef or a FOWLR (and keep my 75g reef going), only because I love large Angels so much. The fact that Angelfish are not reef-safe, for the most part, is well-documented. But what about a list of corals that have a high...

HQI vs. MH (Reef Pros please help me)

Can't confirm the electricity or bulb life differences. Unless you're going for 400W, there are plenty of double-ended spectrum options for 150W/250W fixtures.
