    Keeping a Mantis shrimp

Ive seen things like xenia and zoos take with mantis. They have a tendency to rid the tank of them, though. Im sure its a shrimp-to-shrimp basis, like most anything out there. Xenia and zoos don't need much light, so, with the right position in the tank, the corals and shrimp are all happy. Mark

    Another 10g Diary.

Let me know how the GSP works with your CUC and shrimp. I had one and it attempted to eat everything and anything that came into the tank. And he was still just a baby. Maybe 2". Everythings looking great! Mark

    LED Lighting?

http://www.aquaristsonline.com/blog/...ght-of-choice/ Alot of info is found there. Feel free to post if youd like, though. (I think that link is okay as they are not selling anything to compete with SWF?) More info is always appreciated though. :) Mark

    LED Lighting?

Okay, maybe Im missing something. I havent been around these parts for about 3-4 months, now I come back and there are fully LED light fixtures for the tanks? Im kind of confused. Are these fixtures used instead of regular lighting (T5/MH/CF/etc.) or as an addition to them? What are the...

5-10 gallon nano reef tank setup/advice

I was wondering what was possible to keep with the: Current USA 30" Nova Extreme T5HO 1X24W 10K + 1X 24W 460nm CU01137 $98 Seems like a pretty minimal fixture, FOWLR only, maybe? Mark

    Missnano's 12G Nano Tank Diary

Out of curiusity, what background knowledge are you building this tank from? I mean, did you do any research before you started out into SW? The tanks looking good. You have a green brittle star, green serpent, either way. It will get big and could eat your beloved fish. It will most...

I amnew and I am about to buy a 200 gallon tank

Is it really necessary to have a powerhead in every bucket? JW. Also, when you get home, if you wanted to save space, you could always have two or so large crates you could put everything in so you dont have to use so many heaters, powerheads, and such. Plus, the fish would have more room to...

    water changes

You could always not use buckets. Use one big tub or similar and either have it gravity fed by a syphon (if you can get it up a level), or use other means of sucking the water through a tube into the tank. Ive seen motorized fixtures, but I dont know how they work on saltwater. We use one for...

    Renee's pics

All beautiful photos! Maybe a weird question, but can I ask what lens you used on your MKII to take those and what mode you were in to take them? Ill be headed to the National Aquarium soon with my D90 and selection of lenses, so its always good to hear from a fellow DSLR shooter and how they...

    Keeping a Mantis shrimp

Im interested in seeing how this all works out. I was thinking about getting a peacock a few months ago before I had some family issues get in the way. Anywho, your tank's looking great. Ive heard to be advised against getting a fully grown peacock, as they only may have a few weeks or...
