    110 X-Hi - Tank & Wall Photos

As you can see I wanted to keep the inside of the tank as clean as possible of equipment, and that is/was hard to do with out a sump. I am exchanging a closed loop pump for the next size up as i want a little more flow. I could add a power head to the end wall if I really needed to, but like I...

I thought I knew a 'fair' amount of info on marine tanks, until I came here! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the help and suggestions I have had with the new tank. Figured I would post a few pics of what people have been helping me with! These first 5 images are of the wall...

Peppermint Shrimp & Aiptasia - Thanks!!!

I had some Aiptasia on LR that I purchased and it started to spread. I placed an order with SWF for 5 Peppermint Shrimp and a few other things, hoping the shrimp would take care of them (based on suggestions from the forum). Well I left for 10 days over the holidays and came back to my shrimp...

    T-5 Fixture for 110 X-Hi ?

Yes, I know, another annoying lighting question, sorry...... I have a 110 X-Hi (48" x 18" x 30") and I was curious what amount of watts I need to use if I go with T-5's for the tank? I am not sure what I want to keep for corals yet, but I would like to keep my options open. Thanks!

need advice-new 80 gallon tank filtration question

LFS mark up their prices a LOT compared to what you can get items on the internet. Where I am prices are, on average, 3x as much as they are anywhere on the net. Unless it is an emergency I do not purchase things from my LFS for that reason. I do feel bad not supporting local places and I...

    A question for mboswell1982

I ran 2 330gph bio-wheel filters on my 75g years ago and had 0 nitrates everytime I tested. They seemed to work for me, I have since upgraded and they are in my basement, but I never had an issue with them.

    Lionfish in a 37 gallon?

By 'Dwarf Lionfish' are you meaning Dendrochirus brachypterus? Would there be a way to keep a small Volitan Lionfish? SWF has 3 listed on their site, 'Large', 'Large show', & 'Medium'. The 'Medium' is said to be 2"-4.5", could one of those work? Is there a dwarf version of that species? Thanks!

    Lionfish in a 37 gallon?

I have a 37 gallon (30 x 12 x 22) set up as a 'natural northern saltwater' tank. I was thinking of switching that over to a tank with a Lionfish, is that possible? Would the 37 be enough room for the fish? Is there a specific species I would have to go with to keep it happy? Thanks!

Coralife Aqualight Elite - Any good?

I want/need to upgrade my lighting with my new tank. I found a Coralife Aqualight Elite Metal Halide/Compact Fluorescent Fixture and was curious if it was any good? 48" - 692 watt (2-250 watt, 2-96 watt). Currently I have an Orbit 48" 260 watt (64 x 4) on the 110g (48 x 18 x 30) Thanks!
