    chaseter's biocube nano extravaganza

All your coral are looking really healthy. In terms of the hair algae good luck. Here's my experience On my 8th month with my 24 tank I had hair algae on my rear tank wall. I changed my PC lights (can be replaced every 6 to 14 months depending on the source, however the spectrum does change over...

    Anenome sucked thru filter!!!!!!

I've had mine sucked into my overflow; it came apart in two pieces. Completley deflated and limp. Almost threw it away, and decided to let it sit in two seperate cups. Now I have two thriving anemones. Don't give up on it yet! They are suprisingly hardy if originally healthy

    When do hitchhikers start appearing

Welcome to SWF, hitchhikers are not a guarantee on any live rock and vary depending on the source, quality and method of transfer. If the liverock had any dry off you may have lost some. My live rock had maybe 2 astrea stars on it when my tank started, it now has several hundred. So patience...

    Anemone stinging polyps HELP!

Yah, I've kind of taken it as an inevitability that anything within a certain radius of my anemone will be stung. So either move anything that isn't permanantley attached to a big rock thats within that radius or accept that it'll eventually die off and won't be an issue.

    SocalNano24s Tank Diary

haha, nope. After I got laid off, I put it on hold.(don't worry working again) I've done a bit more research and set up a 5.5 gallon pico tank to give me a project to work on in the meantime. I want to start getting the sump together to get some progress. Its just a matter of finding the time to...

Transferring from 30 to 75gal tank

if you have the room to keep both tanks up and running for a week or two to verify you don't have a cycle it would be a good idea. Otherwise it basically sounds like your setting up a new tank. I recently set up a new tank with new sand and live rock, and used 90% water from my established...

    purple up? good-bad?

I have a nano, and I use purple tech, a similar brand by kents marine. It also has trace amounts of mangnesium and strontium in the correct ratio. I test for calcium weekly and use it to maintain my levels.

"Just add water" reef...is it possible?

Ok. Good to know on the calcium ph. I know I did read somewhere about alk buffeting from a deep bed of crush coral or arg sand. I'll have to look it up at home.

AVATAR? anybody see? Yea or Nay?

No Cran, the glasses are newish, you technically buy them but then they "recycle" them and clean them up and refurbish them eventually. Oh yeah and Soviet Taco, it was better than District 9 in my opinion and D9 was epic.

    Bored...starting a 10g Nano

you can try taking the rock out and putting it in an extra tub or bucket with partial filled water from your tank. He should drop down into the water if hes not all the way covered. This always worked with my emerald crab when I wanted him off a rock during relocation and cleaning. (or take the...

"Just add water" reef...is it possible?

green hair algae will pull alot of bad nutrients like phosphate and nitrates out of the water.... that'll do it. Have you ever seen that thread floating around about the algae scrubber bucket fliter? (that uses "turf" algae under controlled circumstances for the same purpose)
