    Cleaner shrimp molting

I have 2 that are over 2 years old and they are easily 3 inches. And yes, their antennae are very, very long. This is what they use to intice the fish towards them. My 2 fireshrimp are about the same size, maybe 1/2inch smaller, but bulkier and also 2 yrs old. Depending on the fish in your...

    coral beauty anybody??

I have one that leaves pretty much everything alone, but does nip at the kenya tree coral. Doesn't do any damage, just kind of tastes it. Had it in my reef for 2.5 years.

    Clown Gobies and Coral Love!

Mine loved my colt coral, before it died!! The colt that is, didn't make the transition of the move. I plan on getting another colt coral, great feathery coral in my opinion.

    Lets see those sponges!

Not sure I can help you there. It was sold to me as a tube sponge, almost 3 years ago, and during that time I have learned that most tube sponges are pink, or orange. This is very definately yellow. So, no clue as to the name or type.

What fish to start out with???

I agree, Tangs are not a good starter fish. The only really hardy tang is the yellow and they are very territorial and should be added last. A group of green chromis are really pretty, hardy, and not as mean as their cousins the damsels. Add a odd number to prevent fights. A tank that size, I...

    Please ID!!! Bad or Good??

That is a glass anemone...or commonly called an aiptasia. Joes juice will get rid of them, but yes, they multiply extremely fast.

    Live Rock Hitchhikers...worms...shrimp...has me scared!?!

Welcome Carrie. Your tank sounds very thought out, and sounds like a good start. Excellent in doing lots of research. As far as your concerns.....#1--almost 90% of the bristle worms one finds in their tank from live rock are great scavengers, and are a welcome in the tank (my opinion). As long...

Do not put it on the glass, and yes they sell legs for the lights. Offer $80, since it has no moonlights.

    My new Favia coral

Thanks, I think you hit the nail on the head.... you hand feed him. Most cbs get such a bad rep for attacking fish, shrimp but are most likely not fed. I will give this some thought, but.......

Not a fan of coral banded shrimp......but, Henry is really pretty. Any problems with him? I have other shrimp in the tank, so interested if he leaves them alone.

That mushroom rock has singlehandedly helped to drop mushrooms all over my tank. I don't do anything to place them in a certain position.....super glue, rubberband etc. , I just let them attach wherever they please. So far I am pleased with their positioning. Thanks for all the kind remarks...
