So tomorrow is the DAY TO GET A NEW TANk then WHAT?

I got my buckets from the dollar store. I mix my water in the blue one, and put my old water/rinse off my filter in the white one. They're only used for the tank. When I first got my tank, I didn't have a heater for the water changes. I would just put the bucket in the sink with a thermometer...

What do you do for a living?

Barista. I make coffee all day long and chat people up. Pretty fun, but my voice is usually hoarse at the end of the day. I would say 90% of my tips are spent on my tank (and some of my regular wages...but I prefer not to think about those numbers).

Something weird is in my tank

That wasn't a bristle worm that the oregon reef guy had in his tank...read the article. Try enticing the creature out of his hiding spot and snap a picture of him. You'll probably get an ID real quick. :)

    nano fish selection

My yellow watchman is awesome! He has quite a bit of personality. As he's growing larger, he's getting bolder, too. I think the royal gramma and a goby combo would be awesome, but skip the clown. I have a 10 gallon, and this is what I have in it: 1" yellow watchman, cleaner shrimp, about 5...

    Powerhead or not?

I would. And shell out the extra for a nice one -- so when you can't take it any longer and want to upgrade to a/get an additional larger tank, you'll already have a good powerhead for it. ;)

210g in a week what should i put in it

The blue ribbon would be way cool. Maybe a school of anthias and a tomini tang.

    Having Ice Cream!!!

lol, those little girl scouts and their parents are like crack dealers! It's terrible! The other day I was driving along and noticed the car next to me had a sign on the window that said, "Want girl scout cookies? Call ###-####." You're post has taken that sign to a whole 'nother arena. I like...

    Fish Tattoo?

Agent, that is way awesome. I like that the moorish idols have a lot of character. I'm leaning towards a radiata lionfish. I think I'll ask him to draw up a couple different fish: the lion, emperor angel, moorish idol, and a few others to see what he comes up with. The more I think about the...

    Having Ice Cream!!!

My fiance returned from Albertson's grocery last night with a box of thin mints ("I couldn't say no to them!") and directly into the freezer they went. Mmmm.

    Help naming puppy

Piper, Kona, Turtle, Mud. (I work at a Badass Coffee -- 100% Kona is our most popular bagged whole bean coffee. I think the name 'Kona' suits a coffee-colored pup!)

    Fish Tattoo?

Thanks for the suggestions. The person doing the tattoo is an excellent artist, but he's going to Portland to learn to tattoo. So I'm also thinking it can't be too, too complex, i.e. full back piece. I'll be going to my regular artist for that. ;) But maybe if he does an awesome job, in the...

    Fish Tattoo?

...But I also don't want to convey "Nemo." Which with the clown and hippo, might be a problem. The only problem with the lion is the white -- white ink doesn't turn up well/last long on skin, so would have to be a very milky blue color instead. Like the moorish idol suggestion. Thanks much for...

    Fish Tattoo?

In mid to late April, I'll be driving up to Portland, Oregon to get a tattoo from a friend's husband. Besides the costs associated with a four-hour drive and couple of day stay, it will be free. I would like to get a fish tattooed on my calf. So my question for you is: What would you consider...

    How do you feed hermits?

As hot said, make 'em do their job. For awhile, I didn't get why my sandbed was getting so green...then I decided to not feed for two days (only inverts in the tank at that point, and fed them a little bit of mysis daily) and like magic, the green was gone. If you have fish, you're hermits are...

    New Fish Are Dying!

I think adding four fish at one time to a tank is too much -- no matter the size. Adding one at a time, with a few weeks in between each fish (unless adding a pair of something, obviously), and quarantining each one is more beneficial for you and for the fish. It's also not so disappointing if...

    Adding Tangs

When I first started my 10g tank, my LFS sold me a 1 1/2" Tomini tang...beautiful fish, and I wish I had been more experienced and knowledgeable at the time. Poor guy. He got ich after about a week, and was gone a few days later. The LFS guy said he was a "mini" tang of sorts, and would stay...

    Stocking List Help

I think anything less than 125g is put to better use as a reef tank. Like psusocr1 said, a 90g aggressive is extremely limited. Most fish that people would choose for an aggressive tank will become too large to be happy in a 90g. My suggestion would be a valentini puffer and maybe some schooling...

    55 Gallon Aggressive Stock List

I've heard that clown triggers should be in species-only tanks because they're so aggressive, much like the humu. Get some large and tough inverts, like a coral banded shrimp or gorilla crab, if you're worried about the inverts being eaten. Personally, I would just consider the clean-up crew an...

    meanest tankmate

How large to strawberry hermits get? Would this be a good choice for a tank with a puffer, or would it be mortal kombat style until one of them is dead?

    Colorful Setup - Please Input

Hey! a 75g isn't a nano! What were you thinking? Good choice. I would say reef tanks are quite a bit more expensive than FOWLR tanks, though. There are many other costs associated with reef tanks vs. FOWLR tanks other than lighting -- i.e., calcium supplements for corals, phytoplankton, etc...
