Help!!! Did I buy the wrong thing?

Mine would girggle for a few seconds until it expelled all of the air. But it never lasted more than a couple seconds. I would fill mine all the way up with water before I turned it on.

Filtering not enough or too much?

It's not really a good idea to mix sand and C/C. People do it just fine but usually it will cause more problems. If you have live rock then your most of your biological filtration won't be on your filters and cleaning them at the same time won't affect your system negatively. I went through...

    getting started

Keep in mind that it does not take muck rock to prvide adequate biological filtration. If you like the look of alot of rock and less water then go for it but if you want more fish and like the look of swimming room then you won't need anymore rock. I would feed your fish everyother day. Your...

    getting started

How often do you feed your fish? What is your circulation? What is your filtration? I would feed your fish every other day. Feed them enough to where they look slim but not skinny. I they look fat or even slightly fat then you are feeding way to much for what your tank can handle. Your fish...

To vacuum or not to vacuum.....

The bacteria is in your rocks and attached to your C/C so you won't remove the bacteria from vacuming your C/C. It does not take much bacteria to perform the nitrgen cycle. Look at Bare bottum tanks that have just live rock. Pods also live throughout your rocks to so it would be near...

Leveling a tank on heavy carpet?

High much does it lean. A 1/4 inch is no big deal if the tank is 24 inches front to back. How close to the wall are you putting the tank. Simply moving it out a few more inches may help level it out.

Is there a cheap way of putting together 4-96 watt 10K PC's and 2-90 watt VHO actinic

Since SWF.com does not sell lights I will e-mail you the link if you post your e-mail. I really think that most people put way to many fish into their tank which requires lots more filtration that usually only postpones a crisis. Lots of people will also put tons of rock into their tank...

You will only loose 6 inches on each end so it won't be a big deal. The majority of the bulbs will be under the reflector. Just paint the canopy gloss white and that will reflect alot of light also.
