Would it be possible to put a pom pom crab and a bumble bee snail in a 1 gal pico tank?? They would be the only critters in there, no fish are in this pico. Do these snails bother corals??

A friend has what I think is a clove polyp all over their tank. It is attached to the back and side glass, rock etc. Sort of a purple/brown color. Does this sound right?? What I would like to know is if they scrape this stuff off the glass it comes right back, any way to get rid of this??
