    How do de-fog goggles

If they are glass goggles which are new, they will have a factory film on them. Without removing this film they will always fog a lil bit. Rub them with a your finger with some toothpaste. then rinse them out with water really well and finally with a soft cloth. Then as everyone else said, when...

    12 gallon nano chamber space

I used a nano glo. Its 4 super bright LED lights and magnets onto the back, through the glass in the second chamber (same peeling of vinyl required. It is only 4 watts TOTAL, so there's no heat increase (and minimal electricity). Its a bit on the expensive side though for a refugium light, but...

    Corraline Survey

One of my friends is doing a presentation on corraline algae at a local fish club. I told him I'd ask if anybody had any input on it on here....kind of like a survey I was curious when people started to notice corraline on the backs of their tanks(or growth on rocks and glass)(from the time of...

    SocalNano24s Tank Diary

Wow, 89 is crazy. At least nothing melted! I hear thats what corals look like when they get too too hot. Now that I've dove in water above 82 I don't feel so bad when my tank gets above 80. Good to know it occurs naturally in some areas!

BTW: here's a list of some of the aquairum fish I saw Fairy Wrasse (several 4-6" specimens, very light in color, typically in small groups on the sand, at about 25-30 feet King Angel (see picture above) about 6-7 inches long, at around 40 foot depth in open water about 20 feet from...

hey buddy, the pictures look great. How many heads do you have on your torch? It looks like it's fully acclimated now. I was considering getting a frogspawn. See if I have the room next time I look into anothe purchase. The green thing with the zoas, maybe its a ricordia, or a similar mushroom...

    SocalNano24s Tank Diary

Thanks! I'm really excited about it. I was really picky about the live rock I got, and it was pretty much encrusted with corraline; so I was fortunate. However, looking back I don't think I had corraline spread to my walls until about the 6th week of my tank being set up (which from what I've...

    SocalNano24s Tank Diary

So I did a 25% water change, got a calcium tester, I've been a bad aquirist (shh!), but it was at 460 ppm, I only add about 5 drops of purple tech a week to the tank. Heres some new picutres, oh and good news NO more limp tentacle! Everyone seems to have survived the heat wave...

    SocalNano24s Tank Diary

Typically I only have to top off my tank every 4 or 5 days. I may remove the surface skimmer on my intake, and lower my salinity tonight when I do a 25% water change so that if there is some evaporation it wont' matter if the overall tank level drops a half inch and salinity increases.
