it's not the wattage it's the intensity. because of the MH. more of the light can penitrate the water. your paying for a greater PAR value not the wattage.

1st your going to need another tank... move ALL of you fish to this tank. Over the couse of a week you going to slowly lower you SG to 1.019 and hold it there!for 4 weeks. then slowly bring the SG back up to meet your Display tank then re-add all you fish. THat is the quick Discripstion...

well... there is a DI unit you would buy (I'll see if I can dig up the info on it) for about $40 but it is only good for about 30g then you have to change the media. there is an RO/DI unit you can get for about $100 with a focet hock-up...MIGHTY MITE w/ DI
