The filter life depends on the amount of TDS that they filter out, the higher TDS you have lowers the filter life and visa versa. I bought mine off of E**Y and got it at a real cheap price, but you have to play the auction game.

They call it a bug beacuse the tempered mark it is etched on the glass. objects will apper wavy or warped when you look down the surface, you can put your head on it or just look down it from on the the sides. A tank that is only 5 years old should not be tempered

if your glass is tempered it should have a tempered bug---if it does not have a bug you can tell it is tempered by looking down the surface of the glass and images will appear wavy---try looking at a piece of glass you know is tempered. For example a shower door, patio door, or glass marked...
