you are correct, the silicon will not bond to the acrylic. Go by your local glass shop, they should have the right product to bond the acrylic together.

The skimmer compartment should only be big enough to hold the skimmer. What is your evaporation rate? If it is around a gallon per day or so, you may want to make the return compartment bigger. otherwise you will be having to add water everyday. I would space the baffels 1/2 inch apart.

Your skimmer shouldnt fill up with that much skimmate in a day. The skimmate should be dark green, close to black, and smelling nasty. I have not seen these skimmers in action if there is a way to adjust it to get it to skim properly it would be the best thing to do.

I pulled out 20lbs of live rock out of my DT this weekend and put it in a rubbermaid tub, when I went to check it out today I found a red shrimp at the bottom of the tub with large claws on it. Is this a Mantis?? and i believe that they are bad, correct??? Any pictures or help would be appreciated
