+1 diamond gboy they are awesome keep my san nice and clean. You do have to watch them though. I have a few scollys and a brain on my sand. Every so often he decides to make a home under one of them and he takes all the sand from under them and puts it on top of the coral. Not a big deal though...

    Food ??'s

about the same as a cube of frozen food you get at the lfs. I just take a pinch and tear it out the bag while it iss frozen still put it in a shot glass and fill the glass with plankton zoo or phyto and let the food thaw. then stir it up to break it up good and dump it in

    Anyone with 120 Gallon Reef

I have to be honest here. I would not use the 30 gal. if you are going down a floor then go big real big. Think of it this way my 180 has close to the same footprint. When I shut off my pump the water level in the 55 sump raises about 2'' and its about 2' of plumbing. So in a 30 your looking...

    Food ??'s

I have a food prosesor and I go to the local bait shop for fresh fish and shrimp and what ever else floats my boat grind it all up and put it in a bad to feed my fish. They love it and its alot healthier than the stuff you get at the LFS for a fraction of the cost.

    Ph problem ?

first off DO A WATER CHANGE. 7.8 is not that bad not good you want 8.2. Do you have a sump to grow macro alge. chetao works good for nitrate removal with a good skimmer. How much rock to you have? Flow all that adds a even biger part than chetao imo

Can someone check my sump design

You are right the more contact time the more nutrients it will absorb but also allow for detruis to settle and rot adding more nutrients to the tank. . Thats why I like my sump. I have an external skimmer plumbed to my overflow (recirculating) that dumps into my sump thats a 55 gallon tank with...

Sump...fail issue (sorry i have lots of questions lately)

How long has this tank been set up? You said you have a nice fuge going with lots of pods. If it has been going for that long to have lots of pods not letting it dry I dont think is your problem

Can someone check my sump design

Ok I got ya there but got to ask you a question. By controlling the amount of flow going to the fuge ad the skimmer area. Where is the proven benefit and if there is no proven benefit why bother plumbing all those lines. IMO it is hurting more than helping cuz every uneeded line slows down flow...
