Can I Let Nature Take It's Course? Ich...

Likely your fish in the tank that survived the ich have some immunity and are not sick but there will always be a low level of ich in the tank that these fish keep alive with an ocasional spot or two and when ever you put a new fish in it will come down with ich from your tank even if it does...

    Is this a worm?

I would get some stuff called Clout and treat him in a seperate tank or rubbermaid with a powerhead. It only takes 24 hours to treat flukes and worms with this stuff. Lesley

    rodi hookup to water heater

Our water input to the house is in the garage so I had a plumber come out an he cut a small hole in the wall near the water shut off valve to the house and tapped into the line and put a water hose spiket there so I could hook up my R/O DI unit. It cost about 300 dollars for the plumber. Lesley

    Questions about UV filters

Hi, I have had saltwater fish for the last 5 years and have had ich problems on and off but have not lost any fish to it. I was wanting to get a UV to help to control the ich but wonder if the UV will kill off the benificial copapod and amphipod population? Also I have a small moderate amount...

    Using Flatworm Exit Questions

Is the flatworm exit going to kill snails and other good worms in your tank? What about crabs and fish? What else does it kill? Don't use it until you know the answers to these questions. I know that I have a large population of some little clearish looking worms in my sand bed that I bet the...

    Tank size and Bio load...?

Tell us what kind of fish you want to keep in there, and what corals etc. and we can advise you better. If the tank in 6 inches wider it would be better for some fish that get to be a foot and a half long like a queen angel etc. Lesley

    what is your stock list

Hi, I just got my custom 190 gallon this month. It was not any more expensive than an in stock tank but just took longer to get. I had a 90 gallon in the Oceanic medium oak color and wanted a bigger tank in the medium oak but Oceanic no longer makes this color which is a shame as it is the only...

    stock list question.

Hi, If you have not already purchased the tank I would look into some other size as the 35 gallon hex tanks that I have seen are the very deep ones with a smaller than normal surface area and bottom area. This poses several problems. First off it is not too good for the fish not having much...

    2 sixline wrasse fighting

Duh. Sixline wrasses are little [hr] . Don't know why they call them peaceful as the one I had in my ninety gallon killed a royal gramma and a flasher wrasse when I tried to put them in. They don't bother dissimilar fish though. I finally accidently killed mine after having him for 5 years by...

    peppermint shrimp.....AAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!

Are you feeding them? Try feeding them some some little sinking pellets a couple of times a day. If you want to get rid of them then give them back to a fish store. Don't flush them for eating. Lesley

    Hardiest Angelfish?

It is not true that they won't grow as big in a fish tank as in the ocean... it is just that most die before they reach this size in captivity (probably form being in too small of quarters). These fish may grow slowly, but not so slowly that one should not start out with at least a 180 gallon...

    Hardiest Angelfish?

You know I have a new 190 gallon 6 foot by 2 foot tank and I wanted to get a Blue faced angel but decided against it as this fish and most of the ones that you mention get to 18 inches long and a lot of people think that full grown ones of this size need a 250 to 300 gallon size tank to be...

    Hardiest Angelfish?

I hope your tank is at least a 180 gallon as all of the ones you mention need that size tank minimum.

    Upgrading

Hi, I have gone up in size in the last five years and never cycled the next larger tank and never had any fish loss. I went form a 25 to a 45 to a 90 then a 190 gallon. As long as you bring all the sand and rock from the old tank and do not increase the bioload for a while you should be fine. I...

i know this is stupid, but.....

Gee.... don't know if there are any that are soft and slippery enough to move like a real anemone. You could try, but don't count on them using it. Mine like to host the overflows, and when I had then in a QT rubbermaid they hosted the V in the PVC piipe. Lesley
