Scraping the overflow box I made. Didn't work very well. I will just buy a premade one. I did a trial run of the PVC manifold by running a syphon line into a bucket and pumping back up. Makes a good return. Returns the water on 3 sides of the tank.

Well I like mine to be around 80-81 but I have to use my heater. What size tank do you have that you can keep it at that temp without a heater?

Another quick question. Does it matter where I mount the overflow box? Does it have to be in the middle back, side? I wanted to put it in the most inconspicuous place I can.

When putting in a sump/fuge on a tank that is not drilled do you need an overflow box or can you use a syphon tube with a screen on it to keep critters from going up it? What does the overflow box do that a syphon tube would not?

ANyone familiar with this canister filter system? I am looking to get rid of my HOB emperor 400 and go with a canister filter.
