i did the same thing as you with poking a hole in my return line. I poked the holes just above the water line so that when the pump shuts down it starts to suck the air in too. I am just going to buy a back flow preventer to just make sure. I should have thought of that first before poking holes...

how do you like the HQI?

So far .... 2 Clowns, 1 Yellow Tang, i think its a Yellow spotted Gobie.. Hermit crabs, 1 snail.....oh ya and some kind of shrimp. I want to get a Powder Blue tang soo bad.. I will buy him soon. the gobie is a trouble maker though.. He is always making huge hole in the bottom and spitting it...
