thanks for all of the posting. it has helped me soo much. i am going to switch my water sources because if have found that the one that i am currently using has phosphates in it. and i am going to definately put a timer on my tank to only keep it on like 7-10 hours a day.

i am not going to use a chemical because i have heard that they can harm or kill coral, which i have a lot of. i have tried putting the powerhead on the sand but it just creates a HUGE sand storm. so i think that i am going to switch water sources for a while to see what happens.

Ok so i have been having major cyano problems for about 3-4 months now and can still not figure out how to stop it. i thought that it was my phosphates so i bought some phosguard and the phosphate is at 0 but there is still a ton of cyano. so now i am thinking that it is my water. but idk how it...

that horseshoe crab will get very big overtime. but for now it should be fine. the fish are probably hiding somewhere, my firefish hid in a very tiny little hole in a rock and i didnt know where he was for a day or two and then he came out and now that is his home.

ok. i only have about 5lbs of live rock in my refugium with about a 4" live sand bed in it. this refugium is very small, only about 4 gallons because it is in my 10g sump.

no undergravel filter!!! just use live rock and sand!!! you may need to run some carbon through your filter but if you really want a top-knotch filter, just use a refugium. you should have about 1-2 pounds of rock per gallon. u will also need a light but not the powerful of one if you are not...

There is this weird type of snails in my tank that came with the rock that i bought and they are eating my leather coral. what should i do.
