I know someone that put one in a 125 gal that looked like shag carpet of hair algae. This thing was incredible, within 2 weeks the algae was gone and not a trace could be found. The Local fish store had one and let him take it to clean the tank and then he returned it to a tank he had waiting...

any other thoughts, He was expensive so I want to do it right. The more input the better decision making

a LFS in my area of NJ has them and they are called cats eye snails, they are harvested off the eastern shore of Florida. They are like the astrea snail, only difference listed is they can right themselves if the turn over

I know this fish is known to get ich from moving. I have him in a quarantine tank waiting to see if he develps anything. At what point can I safely add him to my 150 gallon main display tank. He appears to be very healthy and eating like a tang should, How do I know when its ok to move him?

That looks like an amazing fish, How long have you had him, The obvious question would be "you have no problems with him in the reef, . How about with inverts, probably would eat them huh?

Buy clams from your local seafood store. Littlenecks or cherrystones. Put them in a tub of your tank water. They will purge out the bad water and take in your water. After they all purge, put them in the tank or refugium and they will bury themselves in short order. I had nitrates that...

this really cuts down on your GPH, so your mag 7 isnt going to be the same. If your GPH is marginable you may consider increasing to a mag 9
