I bought some from a local lfs a few weeks ago. Half of them were pumping halfway... (does that make sense? lol) Anyways, after a couple weeks, they adapted to my tank, and now they are pumping like crazy!! They don't stop even when the lights go out! They weren't pumping this much at the fish...

ok thanks. a little more research yielded names like "butterscotch nassarius" and "orange-spotted nass." which are more commonly used. the lfs i bought it from claimed it to be a "tiger nass." and my search results got fumbled up with clam-eaters...

a six line wrasse would eat bristle worms...

that pic might be the 300f, because mine has only one black clamp right in the middle of the 2 gray pipes. the distance between the pipes is about 8-7/8". you can kind of see it in the pic, the clamp is a triangular piece that slides in and out vertically. that clamp just holds the unit closer...

alright, thanks guys. nothing like hearing the lights you thought were good - aren't. i think the lfs guy is used to ATA bulbs or something a little higher quality. i guess i'll try these bulbs out and see if anything grows...

I've got the octopus 100f, it measures 13" across total. about 11.5" across between the two gray pipes (inlet and outlet) and each pipe is about 1.5" outside diameter. hope that helps.

I have a flame hawk in my 24g cube. He's friends with an ocellaris clown thats a little smaller than he is. I had a sixline wrasse with them, but it did a disappearing act rather well, but forgot to reappear. If you're gonna get one, buy the smallest one you can find... i have no shrimp or clams...

Considering the transformation your tank has been through, this thread is pretty amazing! (as well as inspiring) Did you end up getting that AquaC skimmer? Can you take a pic of it hanging on your tank? I'm thinking of getting one because I don't want some ghastly H.O.T skimmer (i.e. coralife)...

I have that stuff too, it came into my tank as a hitchiker. I wish it was not in my tank, though. The only lfs owner I trust told me "its not bad, but its not good" I don't know what it produces, but every couple of days the sponge has bubbles on it. I think cyanobacteria produces nitrogen...
