    black clown?

The best way to increase your chance of getting a young sexually immature fish is to buy one of the smallest from a community tank. A perc and an ocellaris will bond as easily as two of the same species just in case others will tell you differently.

    Anemones eat fish?

I have been Keeping btas and mini carpets for years, never lost a fish yet. If an anemone dies in your tank it is the amonia spike that could cause a problem in your tank. Larger species of carpet anemones are known for eating fish, and some crabs, snails just about anything that wanders it's...

    2 New babies aquired

I had a very tiny clownfish in my biocube. It kept swimming through the slits of the surface skimmer. I found the little fish one day laying on the filter pad, thankfully it was dirty and had a puddle so it didn't die. I went to the craft store and covered the slits with a plastic grid...

    Help me please

Sea hares ink just like an octopus. I coppied this from the sea slug forum. I wasn't sure if I could post a link. This is the a question similar to yours. HTH Question: Today our Sea Hare was pulling in like it was trying to form a ball or shrivelling up or something. I wasn't sure if it was...

    bristol worms

I pull out the very large ones (actually any I can snag) when I get the opportunity. I am not even making a dent in the population. The large ones can be a problem, they steal food from my mini carpets and corals. I pulled an enormous one a while back, I have a photo somewhere, if I find it I'll...

    Refugium for Nano's!

I have converted the center chamber of my 14 biocube into a fuge. Razorbladed the paint off the back glass and have a light attached w/velcro to the back vertically. It has been on 24/7 for well over a year. It is virtually a cheato factory, gets much more light this way than from above. I am...

    Help, Flatworms

I have used FWE on tanks with anemones, I lost nothing. Just make sure your remove carbon before treating, have new carbon to add afterwards and have a 20% waterchange ready. You can try to siphon out any dead/dying flatworms during your water change.

    I want to $%@#@# scream!!

Your nitrate level is 20?? Your SG is definately not what killed your shrimp, it was your nitrates. Ornamental shrimp are very dleicate and do not do well with elevated nitrates. You need to get that tank stabilized before adding anything else. I would get your fuge up and running, cheto is so...

List of fish/inverts that hobbiests should avoid

I must object strongly to the inclusion of all octopuses to this list. Mine has been a joy to me and my family. Containing him has not been an issue. My advice is to research any fish or invert you want to keep, do your homework and avoid buyers remorse.

I Am Starting To Hate Xenias

I had xenia take over my 14 biocube a few years ago. I fragged it all and took it to my LFS for credit. My husband was mad, it was his favorite coral. At the time I really didn't care, the tanks are mine, I do all the maintenance and it literally was killing other corals. Years later (now) I...

    Octopus

My leather is a couple inches across. It was marked 35, he gave it to me for 30 so I was pleased. I am thinking Ollie is full grown, if he has grown since I have had him, it has not been much. Glad you enjoyed the video, I will continue trying to capture him in action.
