Isn't the filter suppose to be good for like half a year or more?

I have gotten a total of maybe about 300 gallons out of this thing and replace the filter already???

I have had my RO unit for 3 months now. with it providing water for my 90 gallon. I have never done any maintenance on the RO unit. Do I have to do any maintenance on RO units? Now the water coming out of the RO unit smells bad! and I am having a diatom outbreak in my tank. Any suggestions?

hmm heater is off. The light indicator is off and when I feel it with my hand it is not hot. But I will unplug it tomorrow to be sure when I get home. as for tonight I am afraid if I unplug it the tank will freeze over night in case the heater was stuck on on mode. any other suggestions in the...

nope. lights only raised it by 2 degrees at most. right now its 83.3 although lights been off for couple hours.

both of my ballast are so hot that I can not pick it up with my hands to move them. any other ideas? The bulbs are going to be burning hot with or without fan I'm sure.

the LFS store said these bulbs have 0 warranty, so blowing another bulb would be like almost another $100 bucks. BTW coralife MH bulbs suppose to have 0 warranty?

ok I really don't want the ballast to blow another bulb,. What else can I do now?

my mh bulb only been used for about 2 months! 10k 150 w double ended. it turned dark and stopped working. Had to go to the LFS in a hurry to get another, costed $80 USD. Did I do or not do something to cause the bulb to blow this fast? my ballast is SO hot it can burn my hand. is this normal...

Well I am still researching what anemone to get. But in general how would you handle something poisonous like a urchin or anemone? so I just drop it into the tank and let it fall to the bottom?? Wouldn't the fall hurt?

my tank only been up for about 2 month and the coraline has really taken off on one side of my tank. Most rocks are covered there. But on the rigth side there is nothingness. :thinking: I have MH lighting and add no supplement.

ah I see. I thought there was a different reason to keep backup water at certain temp. I never put a heater in my backup/topoff/change water. When water changing, what I do is drip the water into my sump slowly as if I was acclimating. So that no one will notice the change. Just not comfortable...
