i've got all kinds of soft corals in a 30 long with that lighting. i also have a bta that split after i got him (july 30). i feed them a couple of times a week and they are at the top of the tank.

not to question arnie's experience, but looking at the pics (which aren't the greatest) it could very well be a frogspawn. the tentacle extension is very short for a healthy torch. just a thought.

i got that kit to replace a red sea kit that never read zero either. but, on mine, the .25 and 0 readings are reversed compared to yours, with the browner color being zero. mine will read zero, but it takes bright lights and good peepers. i wouldn't worry about it. what are your nitrites?
