    I.D. Please

Saw 3 of these floating around on my rockwork and glass. To me they look like Abalones...but I am not 100% sure. I apologize about the images, I'm trying to work with an old digital camera untill the new SLR comes!

Lighting with a Coralife CF fixture

A novel idea, but it's not really a possibility. The CF fixture I have up there now pretty much takes up the top of the aquarium. I have about 2" of free space, so I don't think it would work . I think I might have found part of the problem as well. Yes, not only is it CF, but the stock 50/50...

Lighting with a Coralife CF fixture

Ok so I got a 30" fixture from my LFS to start my tank. Currently it has 2 21" 50/50 55 watt bulbs in it. Now As I am learning more and more about lighting, it has lead me to believe that, realistically these are pretty "meh" when it comes to usage. Currently I have these corals in my tank: 1...

    Candy Cane Slime?

Actually I just moved it up higher in the tank yesterday because it was already starting to slime. I just checked it and it seems the slime has calmed down quite a bit to just about nothing. Of course today was the scheduled 10% water change also...perhaps he's happy again? If there are any...

    Werid Growth

So I have this groth growing on my Star polyp and the shell of my abalone. The little white guy towards the middle with what looks to me as a type of feeding device similar to a fan worms or feather dusters. Looking at it I am lead to believe it might be a type of sponge, but I am not certain...

Candy Cane and Red Open Brain...frogspawn?

Right now I have a Coralife dual CF. My green brain really is out all day, and closes at night, so he gets fed in the day. My Frogspawn also closes for me at night, so maybe it is pulling in what he needs during the day. I got it as a frag, and it has over doubled in size in 3 weeks. The...

Candy Cane and Red Open Brain...frogspawn?

Hey all, I have heard how spot feeding can really help these guys out. I haven't done much in the dept of feeding the candy cane or frogspawn, and the red open, I just got. I looked through the feeding pic thread, and I have to say I have never seen these guys even remotely look like that (candy...

Trip to the LFS...Help with ID plz

Any really good suggestions on reviving the brain? I was thinking keep the calcium lvls up, and try to spot feed. I know the red are a little more light sensitive, should I maybe move him over to a more shaded area? I don't really want to loose it.

Trip to the LFS...Help with ID plz

Here is another angle of the coral. I am a a bit of a loss for good angles given the location of it in the aquarium. Hopefully this helps...but I doubt it..lol I can't really seem to see a mouth...yet. I remember the guy calling it a fuzzy or something...but that was it. Perhaps a fuzzy 'shroom?

    Dreaded Aiptasia ID?

Is this what I think it is? Cuz I am hoping it's not lol. If it is aiptasia, I have heard red legged hermits, as well as pepperment shrimp can take these guys out...which I am kinda hoping..since I have the hermits in the tank now, and peppermint is on the way (needed one anyway). Thanx all

    Help with I.D.

Hi all. I recently got a clove coral and much to my suprise I found another coral growing on the side. I have been looking high and low and I can't seem to identify it. From what I have seen, it seems to be a type of bubble coral, but that's as far as I got. I was hoping someone might be able to...
