I use the bottle trap all the time. Just cut a clear watter bottle at the widest part so that you get a funnel. Turn that around and shove it into the remaing part of the bottle. sounds like mntis to me. have you ever put a pistol shrimp in your tank. If not go to the local fish store and get the traps.

I have thre in my 55 and they always stay togther.

Garlic will help fight the parasites. The parasites can stand the garlic and it tends to kill them off. The parasites will just come from being stressed and temp change or anything like that. It is always in your tank but gets your fish when they are vulnerable.
