what to put in frag tank

maybe 10-12 would be good, not to many, but enough in my opinion. If it looks like they are not getting enough food, take a cocktail shrimp and put half of it in there and watch them chow it to nothing, it only takes a few minutes maybe 10-20 at most...

long tentacle toad stool looks like something bit it off

That would be a question for reefkprz, I have not fragged a toadstool, one of the few I haven't fragged, I am assuming it should look like straws stacked against each other on the inside if that makes sense. I would suggest cutting the base off above the necrotic tissue, and then re-attaching...

long tentacle toad stool looks like something bit it off

You may have to frag it by cutting the base completely off, but I would say this is a last resort, and wait for more opinions. I think that the side that was leaning over was probably dead or dieing, and now it may be spreading to the other side. Just my thought, wait for more answers

what to put in frag tank

do you have sand in it, if you do not have sand, I would recommend nasurius snails (sp) that way they can clean the bare bottom glass of any algae or detritus, and also if you feed baby brine, rotifers, or any other zooplankton like mysis shrimp to your coral frags to make them grow faster the...

    Skimmer on the fuge?

Actually, most people build a baffle system into their fuge and install their protein skimmer in the fuge along with heaters, your return pump, and an inline chiller if needed I am currently doing this myself, it is standard procedure, that way your dt is clear of equipment, and you can enjoy...

didn't even think about the uv sterilizer... would the combination of the three be enough to keep you from qt'ing your inverts and corals?

    What is this??

The fish is a damsel, a jewel damsel I beleive, the red is cyano do a search you will learn all about it, and how to treat it, there are many great posts about it, the third, looks to be another type of algae, not really sure where you wanted the eyes to go on that picture, but it could be a...

And they say you cant have 2 angels in the same tank!

When you have that many fish in that small of a tank it makes it very hard to build a "pecking order" All of those fish are in a constant state of hyper stress. Not the way to keep your pets. I am sure that not one of those fish has grown since it has been put in that tank. There is no room...

would lights cause sand to release bubbles?

have you been monitoring your PH at all, the sulfur dioxide was what I was trying to think of at the meeting yesterday. If you are having fluctations in your ph then that may be what it is, and from what I understand it is highly toxic to fish... But I may be wrong on that...

    Ich ? True Or False

I beleive in the qt of all things as well, but one question for all of you, would it stand if someone were to make the comment that in a heavily skimmed tank the possibilities of adding ich due to a coral or invert are very minimal, when all of your fish are used to your tank, and not stressed...

    SPS Tanks w/ Leathers

Experts, correct me if I'm wrong, but the leathers excrete a substance that inhibits the growth of sps and that is where the problem is. As far as I know this is 100% true
