    new arrow crab

are you doing the drip technique? It is at least as important that the other water parameters are the same. You can drip him for an hour and throw him in...

    Info on Wrasse

Any info on why they are rarely collected? And this may be obvious, but just to make sure. The picture I posed is the juvie and the second picture is an adult? Anyone ever kept one of these?

    2 fish dead!

That is sad! But if you don't know exactly why they died I'd wait a bit to buy new fish and see if you can diagnose the problem. Depending on the type of clown, it might be hard to believe they would kill another fish...What else do you have in the tank, how old is it, how big is it, how often...

    Info on Wrasse

I saw a fish at my LFS yesterday that they called at cometa wrasse. So far I've been able to discover it's scientific name is Labropsis xanthonota and that it is also called a yellowback tubelip wrasse. Some websites have told me they are rare and my lfs said that they just started coming in...

puffer converted my reef tank...now what

This isn't related, but just in case you don't know. Brine shrimp have basically no nutritional value. Even if they are vitamin enriched they are only as good as the vitamins. Also, in case you don't know, puffers need some sort of shells to crunch on or their teeth will become overgrown. Good...

    Fuge?

I'd say it'd be fine, based on the fact that whenever people discover a mysterious critter in their tank people always suggest they put it in their fuge until they figure out what it is. But I'd wait for a few more opions to confirm.

Fish known to swim in Upper Zone of aquarium

Looks like you already have a clown and it sticks to the rocks, but just to throw in my experience, my 2 ocellaris clowns spend all their time in the upper half of the tank and never are down by the rocks...

    Blue Assessors

wow! I've always wanted blue or yellow assessors, but I've never found them in a store...but I don't want to pay 120 bucks for them either :S But I think they are great looking fish. Good luck w/them.

    All Dead!!!!

I would think a RO/DI unit would be able to pull the extra stuff out of softened H2O, but I couldn't be a 100% sure. Do you have something to test the TDS of the water after it runs through the unit? It should be 0, if it isn't you either need a better system or new filters for the old system.

    RO/DI unit output

I'll try increasing the temp and report back...Before I use the RO/DI unit TDS is 35, after it's 0.

    RO/DI unit output

...sounds like you are redirecting my call...if no one here can answer my question I'll do that, but I'm willing to give it an hour or 2 first. There's a wealth of informed people on this site and many of them have RO/DI units themselves I'm willing to bet at least one of them has a simple response.

    RO/DI unit output

So, I'm a little confused. I have and air, water, ice system and I can't remember if it's supposed to be 50 or 75 gpd, but it ACTUALLY does less than 10 I would say. One night I left it on accidentally when I went to bed and it didn't even fill up the 5 gallon bucket I had it emptying into...

what is recomended to use to cycle ur tank

I do eat fish...I'm trying to ween myself off though. I don't eat meat anymore, but it's more for environmental reasons than animal cruelty reasons. But the fish I eat aren't put in a vat of poison until they die, their heads are probably chopped off (quick and easy). I'm done having this...

what is recomended to use to cycle ur tank

yeah it is better to wait on things to happen but we can always do thing to speed the process up in a safe manner The issue here is that you don't seem to be considering the safe manner, but the quick manner. If there was a safe quick manner then we would all be doing it because we don't like...

    I really need help

I feed the fish once a day alternating flakes and brine shrimp I don't know if this has anything to do w/your algea, but you shouldn't be feeding brine shrimp. It's like feeding your children snickers bars for dinner, they like them but they have no nutritional value. Fish who eat them tend to...

    5 pep shrimp in a 55?

I don't know anything about shrimp (except they taste yummy!) but I would switch over to frozen food, or buy seafood from your grocery store, blend it up and freeze it to make food. Flake food generally is not as of high of quality as the frozen version and even vitamin enriched brine shrimp is...

Can you cycle a tank with a clownfish???

I've heard otherwise from a lot of people about the maroon clown, but I'm not speaking from expereince, so it's good to hear from both side. Also, it's true that if the LR is cured there shouldn't be a problem, but I generally like to even put cured rock into my QT (which has never been...
