25cents per gallon that is really expencive. you can buy distilled for .25 and all you need is a bottle. the cost of lost water is less then the .25 for electicity. jmho

i would get a fowlr. as for equipment: protein skimmer(imho the most important),wet/dry if you have room for a sump then that is the best but you can use hob wet/dry, regular lighting, heater, and a power head.
