My Electric Blue hermit crab loved the hair algae, he ate it so fast he burped!

Every picture I've seen of this clam shows him on the very bottom of the tank, even in the LFS's I've been to I've only seen them on the bottom. Maybe he is telling you he likes it on the bottom??

The only reason I even tried vinegar was because that is what the instructions from my Nano Tank Manufacturer said to use. I think we are looking into getting an RO filter........ but for a 24 gallon tank it seems a bit of an overkill?

Your question brings up several other questions that need to be answered before someone can attempt to help you :). Are you cycling your tank? How long has it been running? What does the algae look like? Is it brown or green or another color?

I use straight white vinegar on a paper towel then wipe the vinegar off with a different dry paper towel. Smells alot like salad but it won't hurt the fish or the tank. :happyfish
