Here's a picture of the lighting on my little 29 gal. It's a 250W Metal Halide + (4) 24 in 75w super actinic bulbs off of a icecap 430.

Do you have a refugium with any macro algae? ie Chaetomorpha Sp. If so then don't use that red slimer remover... speaking from experience. It'll kill off the macros too.

Check the phosphate levels in your tap water. That may be causing you the problem. I have had to battle a cyano problem due to using bad top off water.
