clean up crew for a 220g, reef

I think most people go crazy on their clean up crews and way over do it. It really all depends on your ablility to keep the tank parameters in order. If you can keep everythig in tip top shape go light on the clean up crew, if not build up as you see fit. Personally I prefer shrimps to hermits...

    Sanitation

In the sink,,,lol I just use soap and water. And of course be sure to rinse well,, very well. Don't want any soap in your tank.

    while in qt?

If the tank is fully cycled then there is no reason not to add the shrimp and snails to the DT. Just be sure that there is something there for them to eat. Also that seems like a big fish list to add all at once. Are they all in QT's? How many tanks do you have for QT's and are all the fish in...

    Missing fish

Even a small crab will make fst work of a dead fish. Tell us about your tank. How big is it, how old is it, what are the water perameters, how long did you have each of these fish before they were gone? All of these will help everyone answer your questions easier.

    lighting question

First off you are going to want to get rid of the glass top. Secondly if you only have 4.5" of space you are going to have troubles with any light you get and trying to keep space between the light and the water. Retrofit will mount in your canopy, but even those need some space. You might want...

    lighting question

Well, the thing about a 90 gallon tank is the deepth of the tank. It is slightly deeper than others and will require a little more light to reach the bottom of the tank. Typically I would recommend either T-5 or MH lighting if you plan on keeping SPS, and actually they are better choices no...

    5,000...10,000...20,000?

Not likely that any one has both bulbs on hand that will be willing to change them out and take pictures for you. About the only thing you can do is if you have MH find some one local that has a couple old spare bulbs and let you try them on your tank.

    A few salinity questions

Yes. If at 77F the SG is 1.025 even at 85F it would probably only change to 1.0249987(this is not a factual number) just as an example.

    A few salinity questions

SG is a measurement of weight. How much the salt water weighs. Salinity has to do with the amount of salt in the water. PPT So it is a measurement that has no bearing on the tempurature or gravity. It is a count of the particles of salt within the water.

    A few salinity questions

The short answer is Yes,,lol PPT (parts per thousand) will not change with temerature. If you have 1000 grains of salt take one out and add one grain of pepper you will always have 1 ppt pepper no matter what the temperature is. SG (specific gravity) can change with temerature yes that is...

    Photographer Needs ID Please

There is no false tang. Possibly you are thinking of a mimic tang. And they are tangs that mimic a yellow angel and are tangs, but that is not a mimic it is a yellow tang.

Depending on how much you need I personally wouldn't pay mor than like 3.50 lb for it. I say this because I can have it delivered to my house for that so why pay more. Cured vs uncured. hmmmm Well if you are just setting up a tank uncured is just as good as cure, maybe even better as it help...

    lighting question

No, you don't have to buy top of the line lights, but better to buy a good quality light that will last, and give you good results, than one that is junk and you will have to start buying parts for a few months after you get it. It is not always about buying the best on the market, but about...

    lighting question

Well, if you plan on keeping corals, IMO study what you plan to keep before you buy it. Know what is required beofre you buy the piece to keep it healthy and happy. Secondly IMO i would not buy any light off of an [hr] site. Don't buy low quality and expect good results from your corals...

    Water Evaporation

I don't recommend using spring water. If you are purchasing water to top off your tank I recommend using distilled water. Although spring water is clean enough to drink, doesn't mean that it is free of all contaminents. There may be no bacteria in it but may contain heavy metals, phosphates...
