You can also feed the harlequin shrimp star fish to keep them alive. If you are willing to buy CC stars or something just to feed your shrimp, but that can get costly. Not sure if there is a cheap SF out there that they will eat but I know that they will eat CC's.

No cheato only needs light. And of course to be in the water. And what I have heard is that mangroves will lower nitrates, but very minimally and only if you have a lot of them. Don't know this just heard this.

That really depends on what you like and what you want your tank to look like. I reccommend something that will not get vey big as you have a smaller tank. Avoid dwarf angel, and all tangs, be sure what you buy is a good reef safe community fish, and then pick one that suits you. Look for...
